My name is Pedro Espinoza and I want to be your next House Representative for House District 36 for this coming 2024 election.
I am a Iraq war Veteran, a current Law Enforcement Officer and a father. I want to do my part in making Colorado a place were it was once known as, skiing, fishing, hunting and local breweries. Drugs are flooding our streets and criminals are not being held accountable. All this and the current house wants to limit our right to bear arms to law abiding citizens when the state is out of control and can not even help itself.
We have a homeless population that is skyrocketing out of control. Then turn around and make our state a sanctuary state for immigrants that arrive on busses and be housed on our money. Lets first focus on the immigrants we have here at home contributing to society and work on getting the homeless population off of the streets and getting them to WORK.
With your help we can make a difference in 2024 and beyond. All you need to do is open your eyes and see what's going on. The path that we are taking now is leading us to be the next state like Washington, California and New York, were businesses are fleeing (Tech company's, Walmart, CVS and grocery stores) and drugs, homelessness and criminals have taken over the streets.
Colorado was growing in a steady and healthy pace. Homes were being built because of the amount of citizens relocating here from sister states. Colorado was a state that our founding fathers would be proud of. A state where values were respected, religious freedoms were protected and parents were fully involved in their children's health and future.
Now, this is not the Colorado I remember. Now, we are known as the state that has 3 of the top 5 cities in the country, known for vehicle theft and robbery. Before, shopping for a car we thought of MPG, now we think of, 'how easy it is to get stolen' and then pay the price in our insurance premiums. Businesses are being robbed and homes are being broken into at alarming rates. People are even afraid of defending them selves because of the criminals rights'. I believe that we should be a state were we can stand our ground and raise the level of force being used against us to defend ourselves, family and property.
During the Summer of 2023, our current State Representatives past a number of laws that went un-noticed by the people. During the month of may, a so called Reproductive Health Care bill ( 23-188 / 23-189 ) was opened. A lot of verbiage was changed but one that was changed/added was that a child (minor) under the legal age was allowed to seek so called, Gender Affirming Care without thier parents consent. I minor with out the consent of thier parents or guardians can receive; tubal ligation (tubes Tide), puberty blockers (blocking the hormones — testosterone and estrogen — that lead to puberty-related changes in your body. This stops things like periods and breast growth, or voice-deepening and facial hair growth), Testosterone prescription for girls, Estrogen prescription for boys and a Procedures included in to gender reassignment like removal of the genitalia (penis) of little boys and breast of little girls. I believe this to be ridicules. How can a minor that still believes in Santa Clause can make life altering decisions especially with out thier parents being involved.
The number one killer in this state is Drugs. Fentanyl is killing people from overdoses at an alarming rate that even 1 Kilo of this drug has the potential to kill over 500,000 people. This product is processed in China, then made in Mexico then brought to our state lines. Instead of making laws after laws that criminals don't abide by, there should be a special anti drug task force voted on by the house to better combat this problem offensively. The federal government is expected to take care of our country's boarders which it is lacking but we as a state have an obligation to take care of ours.
Our state has been being lead by the same people for over a decade and nothing is getting better, it is only getting worse. Insanity's definition is to repeat the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Our current representatives want to take away our right to bare arms in this state while degrading our law enforcement, taking away our schools SRO's (school police) and not holding criminal accountable. Then play the blaming game once something terrible happens. If our law makers have armed police to watch over them at the capital, shouldn't our kids be as important as well.
Take a minute and read over my thoughts and goals if I become elected. Things I want to change to better this state for my children and yours.
